According with one of the main objectives of the Fabrice Pastor Cup, two Brazilian and two Chilean couples have had the opportunity to play a tournament in the best professional padel circuit.
Invited by Monte-Carlo International Sports, they were present at the Seville Open from the World Padel Tour circuit, that was also attended by the two top Argentine representatives, Juan Tello and Federico Chingotto.
The best Brazilian couple of the ranking, Lucas Campagnolo and Julius Caesar Julianoti demonstrated in Andalusia that they can play with the best players in the professional circuit level. After winning by a convincing 6/1 and 6/0 to Javier Caballero and Ignacio Asenjo Tomás, they beat by a double 7/5 to one of the best Catalan couples, Jake Benzal and Eduard Bainad.
In the last round of the preliminary phase, they felt against the best Argentinean couple, also winner of the Fabrice Pastor Cup, Federico and Juan Tello Chingotto. The four offered a great show and finally Chingotto-Tello won by 7/5 and 7/6. The Argentinean were classified at the preliminary phase, showing their good play, and were eliminated in the knockout phase by another representative of the Monte-Carlo International Sports Team, Franco Stupaczuk and Marcello Jardim.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian women players Mariana Borges Altmayer and Cristina Cirne Lima de Oliveira, also had an out-standing performance, qualifying for the main draw of the tournament. They won in the pre earlier stage, passed the two rounds of the preliminary stage and felt in the knockout phase against Gabriela Bartomioli and Paula Josemaria Martín by a double 6/1.
Good participation of Chilean couples
The Chilean Javier González and Carlos Valdés Zarhi, left a good feeling in Sevillas, where they were eliminated in the last round of pre earlier stage. The absence of their rivals in the first game make them won and then they defeated Fabricio Cataneo and Rafael Mendez for 6/4 and 7/6. In the last round of the preliminary phase they were eliminated by Javier Garrido and Francisco Gomes by a tight 6/4, 3/6 and 7/5.
Both players were satisfied with this first experience and Javier Valdés has decided to stay in Spain until November, when he will participate in the preliminary stages of tournaments in Argentina and the Coruña Open. Then he will travel to Portugal to join his team and play the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Chilean women representatives, Gabriela Roux Vidal and Sofia Quesada, lost in two sets against Laura Martínez and Sara Armenta (7/5 and 7/5)
